Intro
In 2049 Los Angeles, replicant “blade runner” K of the LAPD retires the rogue replicant Sapper Morton at a protein farm and finds a buried box containing the remains of a female replicant who died during a C-section, proving a replicant has given birth.
Turning Point 1
K reports the discovery to Lieutenant Joshi, who fears it could trigger a war between humans and replicants and orders him to find and kill the replicant child while erasing all evidence.
Turning Point 2
At Wallace Corporation, K learns the dead female replicant is Rachael, a Nexus-7 created by Eldon Tyrell, and Niander Wallace becomes obsessed with the possibility of replicant reproduction, sending Luv to follow K and recover the remains.
Turning Point 3
K finds the date 6.10.21 carved into a tree and connects it to a childhood memory of a wooden horse, then discovers records of two children born that day with matching DNA except sex markers; he later learns the orphanage memory and the toy horse lead to the buried truth that he may be the real child.
Turning Point 4
Joi deepens K’s hope that he was born rather than manufactured, but K eventually concludes the memories belong to Rachael’s child, not him, and tracks the child’s identity to a girl while the surviving boy record is false.
Turning Point 5
K follows the trail to Deckard, who has been living in hiding, while Luv attacks, kills K’s allies, steals Rachael’s bones, and captures Deckard for Wallace’s interrogation; Wallace tries to force Deckard to reveal how replicants reproduce, but Deckard refuses.
Turning Point 6
K survives an ambush by Luv’s forces, is left for dead, and later learns from the replicant resistance and Dr. Ana Stelline that the true child is a woman whose memories were copied from her own childhood, confirming K has been following a manufactured memory tied to someone else’s life.
Ending
K rescues Deckard from Wallace and Luv, kills Luv in the struggle, and brings Deckard to meet his daughter Ana Stelline for the first time as snow falls inside the protected facility; K then lies injured on the steps, having chosen to help Deckard and his daughter reunite rather than claim a false identity for himself.
